Paris France Tourist Information and City Guide

The most iconic city landmark in Paris France is the Eiffel Tower.  This breathtaking monument was built for the 1889 World's Fair.  It remains the city's most popular tourist attraction.

The Eiffel Tower was designed by Gustave-Alexanre Eiffel, who also did the framework for the Statue of Liberty in New York City.

When construction of the tower was completed in 1889, the 75 story high tower became the tallest structure in the world.   This gigantic structure weighs 7,000 tons and rises to some 317 meters (1,040 feet).
