Ile de la Cite is a small island located in the middle of the Seine River in central Paris and is the location where Paris was originally founded.  Today, many old 19th-century buildings can be seen along the island's narrow streets.

The Notre-Dame Cathedral is one of Paris's tourist attractions that can be found on Ile de la Cite.
