The Law Courts (Palais de Justice) are situated next to the Conciergerie (prison) on Ile de la Cite at the south end of Pont-au-Change.
The Conciergerie was a prison during the French Revolution and a most dreaded place. Among those imprisoned here were Thomas Paine and Mary Antoinette.
Today, the Conciergerie is a museum.
The law courts and prison are located in the Notre Dame District of Paris France.
