The Arc de Triomphe is a huge triumphal arch that was commissioned by Napoleon in 1806 and competed in 1836.  The Arc de Triomphe is over 51 meters high and 45 meters wide.

Visitors to Paris can climb to the top and enjoy a wonderful view of the city of Paris from this very famous landmark.

If you visit the Arch in the evening hours, you will be rewarded with a panoramic view of the lights of Paris.

The Arc de Triomphe is located in the centre of a huge traffic circle from which radiates 12 major arterial roads. One of those arteries is the world-famous Champs Elysee Boulevard.

The traffic circle is called Charles de Gaulle Etoille (i.e. star).

There are many attractions located in this district of Paris. It is easily accessible using the Paris Metro System.
