Paris France Tourist Information and City Guide
The Luxor Obelisk (Obélisque de Louxor) is a 3,300-year old monument that was given to France by the Viceroy of Egypt in 1829.
The hieroglyphics appearing on the structure commemorates the reign of the pharaoh Ramses II.
Prior to being relocated to Paris, the obelisk marked the entrance to the Luxor Temple.
The Luxor Obelisque is located at the centre of the Place de la Concorde.
This beautiful city square and obelisk can be found in the Champs Elysees District of Paris France.
