The Eiffel Tower was built by Gustave-Alexanre Eiffel, who also did the framework for the Statue of Liberty. When construction of the Tour Eiffel was completed in 1889, the 75 story high tower became the tallest structure in the world. 

The Eiffel Tower has two restaurants.  The Altitude 95 restaurant is located on the first landing and the Jules Verne restaurant is on the second floor. There is also a 20 meter high radio/TV transmitter at the top of the tower.
